How do I get reviews on my own site?

You collect them yourself. Reviews on a platform belong to the guests who wrote them and to the platform that gathered them, so they cannot be copied over — not by us and not by hand.

That means a new direct site starts with none, which feels like a step backwards. It is worth doing anyway, because a review on your own site is the only social proof a guest sees at the moment they are deciding whether to trust a website they have never used.

After a stay, invite the guest to leave one. Reviews left this way appear against the booking, and you decide what goes on your site.

Three things that make the difference between a handful and a wall:

Ask soon. Within a day or two of checkout, while the good coffee and the view are still specific memories. A month later you get "lovely, thanks".

Ask once, and ask personally. A short message from the person whose house it is works. An automated third reminder does not, and it costs you the goodwill the stay earned.

Ask everyone, not just the enthusiastic ones. A page of nothing but five stars reads as curated. A four with a sentence about the stairs being steep makes every other review believable.

Do not write reviews yourself, and do not have friends write them for stays that did not happen. Beyond being dishonest, invented reviews are unlawful in the EU as an unfair commercial practice, and they read as fake to precisely the careful guests you most want.
